Curriculum and Learning

At Tenterfields Nursery, we ensure that all children receive an education that:

  • Provides a balance of both child led and adult led activities which are stimulating and foster progression.
  • Promotes kindness, sharing and positive relationships.
  • Promotes independence where children are encouraged to develop ideas, becoming resilient, confident learners and critical thinkers.
  • Allows children access to both outdoor and indoor learning every day.
  • Offers play based activities that are based on children’s ideas, interests, and individual needs.

We ensure that all areas of the curriculum are met with equal importance and through fun, exciting, creative and challenging activities. We offer daily family group, phonics and maths sessions, promote fine motor skills through ‘dough disco’ and always make time for singing and a story. We also have a ‘special book’ every week, that we look at in detail. Our activities are topic based so that all areas of the environment are linked to the theme.

We have a PE session weekly. We ask that children wear comfortable clothes and trainers and no earrings.

Tenterfields Nursery is a part of Tenterfields Primary Academy, which means we have access to facilities and take part in special events and rewards, such as Praise Assembly and Hot Chocolate Fridays with the Headteacher.
